Transformer bridge

Temperature dependence and simulation of H 148 NMR were used for determining the rates and activation energies of conformational transformations. Bridged tetraarylstannanes 26-28 can adopt either Z>2 or S4 symmetry. From calculations it was shown that the achiral form S4 has a higher energy level. It was proposed that transitions between one D2 form to its antipodal proceed through the S4 form 3. [Pg.384]

The dynamic modulus E and the loss modulus E" of specimens have been measured by a Rheovibron DDV-II and a vibrating reed method. The dielectric constant g and the dielectric loss factor g " of specimens were measured by the transformer bridge-type at each measuring frequency from 110 Hz to 1 MHz. [Pg.265]

The dielectric properties of the samples were measured with a three-terminal cell that could accommodate six specimens at a time. Temperature control was better than 0.05 K at all temperatures from 4.2 to 323 K. The values of tan 6 at 100 Hz and 1 kHz were determined by means of a transformer bridge using a substitution principle. In terms of tan 6, the bridge had a resolution of 1 x 10 or better. [Pg.88]

Dielectric dispersion of the solution was measured by using a transformer bridge, Ando Denki TR-IC model in the frequency range from 30 to 3M Hz. A platinum concentric cylinder cell was used in a thermostatted bath. The cell was calibrated with benzene. The concentration of the solution was 5 X 10 g ml to avoid the intermolecular interaction. The dipole moment of PBLG molecules was estimated by the Applequist-Mahr equation from the results of dielectric dispersion measurements. [Pg.261]

As mentioned, we also carried out IR studies (a fast vibrational spectroscopy) early in our work on carbocations. In our studies of the norbornyl cation we obtained Raman spectra as well, although at the time it was not possible to theoretically calculate the spectra. Comparison with model compounds (the 2-norbornyl system and nortri-cyclane, respectively) indicated the symmetrical, bridged nature of the ion. In recent years, Sunko and Schleyer were able, using the since-developed Fourier transform-infrared (FT-IR) method, to obtain the spectrum of the norbornyl cation and to compare it with the theoretically calculated one. Again, it was rewarding that their data were in excellent accord with our earlier work. [Pg.143]

Another synthesis of a bridged hydrocarbon takes advantage of high elearon release from the /wra-position of phenolate anions, which may be used to transform the phenol moiety into a substituted cross-conjugated cyciohexadienone system (S. Masamune, 1961, 1964). [Pg.93]

Another interesting transformation is the intramolecular metathesis reaction of 1,6-enynes. Depending on the substrates and catalytic species, very different products are formed by the intramolecular enyne metathesis reaction of l,6-enynes[41]. The cyclic 1,3-diene 71 is formed from a linear 1,6-enyne. The bridged tricyclic compound 73 with a bridgehead alkene can be prepared by the enyne metathesis of the cyclic enyne 72. The first step of... [Pg.480]

In the case of the bridged complexes, the process involves changing from a bidentate to a monodentate configuration. For these systems the mode of transformation is variable. In close-packed crystals the rearrangement is a first-order process, ie, it occurs discontinuously at a fixed pressure. For slightly less close-packed crystals the transformation occurs over some range of pressure, eg, 2—3 GPa (20—30 kbar). In the language of physics the process... [Pg.167]

In single-phase bridge circuits for ac connections and for very low ac output voltages below 5 V, single-phase center tap circuits are used as rectifier circuits for CP transformer-rectifiers. They have an efficiency of 60 to 15% and a residual ripple of 48% with a frequency of 100 Hz. A three-phase bridge circuit for three-phase alternating current is more economical for outputs of about 2 kW. It has an efficiency of about 80 to 90% and a residual ripple of 4% with a frequency of 300 Hz. The residual ripple is not significant in the electrochemical effect of the protection current so that both circuits are equally valid. [Pg.229]

A direct current flows in the installations during operation of cathodic protection stations therefore, the transformer-rectifier must be switched off when pipes are out or other work on the fuel installation is carried out, and the separated areas must be bridged with large cross-section cables before the work is started in order to avoid sparking that could come from the current network. [Pg.307]

Various arrangements for the protection rectifier and its possible applications are described in Chapter 8. Large fluctuations of the protection current can be reduced by a current-reducing resistor, R (see Fig. 15-7). This means that the pipe/ soil potential in the middle becomes less negative. A current smoothing action can be achieved with rectifiers connected to the network or by reducing losses by an inductive resistance between the transformer and bridge rectifier (see Section 8.4). [Pg.361]

I have decided to use a current transformer to sense the primary current waveform, since resistive methods are impractical in the half-bridge topology. Several transformer manufacturers make current transformers for such a purpose wound on a toroidal core. Coilcraft makes current transformers with 50, 100, and 200 turns on their secondaries. The secondary voltage must be determined in order to have representative current waveforms of the level to work with the control IC. The voltage needed on the output of the current transformer is... [Pg.127]

There are control ICs presently in the market. This is one technique to increase the frequency of full-bridge converters and gain three to five percent in efficiency over the normal PWM full-bridge converters. The cost of the supply does increase since more gate drive transformers are required. [Pg.162]

I desire only a fairly rudimentary overeurrent proteetion that will be set at about 12 A. I will use a 100 1 eurrent transformer followed by a reetifler bridge then an R-C integrator-smoother. [Pg.183]
