The success in sports is dependent on the proper training method. The proper training involves both the training duration as well as the recovery period. A number of studies have been concerned with the evaluation of training methods. For example, research on fatigue due to various activities such as soccer [1], running [2] and biking [3] has been carried out. [Pg.511]

The Control Panel lets the user start and stop a pulsar train. The duration of a pulsar train is set in the box on the right side labelled Train Duration and it can be set to repeat itself if the Loop option is checked. By clicking on the Record button one can save a pulsar train in a soundfile but what is interesting here is that the user can change the sound in real-time, while the it is being saved. The recorded file goes into the PG folder under the name PulsarGenRec. [Pg.227]

It is also possible to switch a single picosecond pulse out of the train of mode-locked pulses using an electrooptic switch. It is possible to obtain a single pulse having duration in the picosecond regime or even less. Pulses with durations in the regime of a few hundred femtoseconds (10 s) are also available (Fig. 4e). [Pg.5]

The eited referenees provide additional and more detailed information on issues sueh as advantages and disadvantages of PPE, eompatibil-ity of various types of PPE with ehemieal hazards, respiratory proteetion faetors, training and proper fitting, and eonsideration of work duration. [Pg.109]

Employees stated that they had received confined space training and were prepared to perform confined space rescue, but they had not rehearsed rescue procedures. In addition, the confined space entry permit form for both contractors did not ask for all required information. For example, the form did not require documentation of the duration for the permit, the intended communications procedures for entry operations, or documentation of hot work performed during confined space entry operations. Completed permits did not contain documentation of hot work performed during confined space entry operations, even though hot work had been performed during such operations at least twice during the project. [Pg.201]

Whenever any training is carried out you should record on the individual s personal file, details of the course taken, the dates, duration, and exam results (if one was taken). [Pg.533]

Normal-pulse voltammetry consists of a series of pulses of increasing amplitude applied to successive drops at a preselected time near the end of each drop lifetime (4). Such a normal-pulse train is shown in Figure 3-4. Between the pidses, the electrode is kept at a constant (base) potential at which no reaction of the analyte occurs. The amplitude of the pulse increases linearly with each drop. The current is measured about 40 ms after the pulse is applied, at which time the contribution of the charging current is nearly zero. In addition, because of the short pulse duration, the diffusion layer is thinner than that in DC polarography (i.e., there is larger flux of... [Pg.67]

A series of DAT selective 3-phenyltropanes have been reported to have potential for treatment of cocaine abuse [33,36,37]. RTI-336,15 (reuptake IC50 — 4.1 nM) was the most potent among these tropane derivatives in locomotor activity and drug discrimination it was less stimulatory than cocaine, and had the slowest onset and longest duration of action. It also reduced self-administration of cocaine in rats and rhesus monkeys. Interestingly, in rhesus monkeys trained to self-administer cocaine, when coadministrated with either citalopram or sertraline, 15 produced significantly more robust reductions in cocaine self-administration compared with 15 alone [38]. [Pg.18]
