Three classes of OA receptor, OA-1—OA-3, have been described on the basis of antagonist sensitivities and location (71). The OA-1 receptor is antagonized by the adrenoceptor antagonist, phentolamine (87) and the OA-2 receptor is blocked by mianserin [24219-97-4] C gH2QN2 (271). The OA-3 receptor is similar to the OA-2 receptor but is found in nerve cord and insect brain. TMP, C22H2gN2 (272) and NC5Z, (273) are more potent... [Pg.566]

Certain chemical treatments can be employed during the TMP process to achieve improved strength. Sodium sulfite and hydrogen peroxide have been used either for chip pre- or post-treatment of the TMP pulp such pulp is called chemithermomechanical pulp (CTMP). The strength improvements, which may be 50%, are obtained at some sacrifice to yield and opacity. The yields of mechanical pulps are 90—95% the lower yields are associated with chemical treatment. No principal commercial pulps are produced in the next lower yield range, ie, 80—90%. [Pg.1]

Another impo2rtant P—C-hond-forming reaction is the base-cataly2ed Michael addition to activated double bonds. For example, dimethyl phosphite can be added to dimethyl maleate to yield tetramethylphosphonosucciaate [2788-26-3] (TMPS), an iatermediate ia the synthesis of 2-phosphonobutane-l,2,4-tricarboxyhc acid [37971-36-1] (PBTC) with 98% yield (20). [Pg.361]

The TMP process is similar to the RMP process except that after chip washing, a steaming vessel is inserted to achieve the thermoplasticization of the lignin in the wood. The production of thermomechanical pulps increased dramatically after the introduction of this method in the early 1970s. Because these pulps can be substituted for conventional groundwood pulps in newsprint blends to give a stronger paper, lower quantities of the more expensive, lower yield chemical pulps are required. [Pg.260]

Trimethylolpropane (TMP), the reduced crossed aldol condensation product of //-butyraldehyde and formaldehyde, competes in many of the same markets as glycerol (qv) and pentaerythritol. The largest market for TMP is as a precursor in unsaturated polyester resins, short-oil alkyds, and urethanes for surface coatings (see Alkyd resins). [Pg.379]

Finally we have performed the Michael addition reactions of malononitrile and 3-(2-alkenoyl)-2-oxazolidinones in dichloromethane in the presence of the R,R-DBF0X/Ph-Ni(C104)2-31 20 and TMP (10 mol% each). Enantioselectivities were a little lower than 90% ee for acceptors having a variety of / -substituents. The best selectivity was 94% ee in the reaction of t-butyl-substituted acceptor (Scheme 7.50). [Pg.294]

Volume of olefin/(volume of ionic liquid.hour). i-C = 2,2- and 2,3-dimethylbutanes, i-Cg = isooctanes, TMP trimethylpentanes, = hydrocarbon products with more than eight carbon atoms, Light ends = hydrocarbon products with fewer than eight carbon atoms, RON = research octane number, MON = motor octane number... [Pg.277]

With more bulky porphyrins like TMP, a stable low-spin monomer Rh(TMP) can be isolated (g = 2.65, g = 1.915), which forms a paramagnetic CO adduct. [Pg.114]
