The element antimony is used to harden lead for use in lead-acid storage batteries. One of the principal antimony ores is stibnite, which contains antimony in the form of Sb2S3. The effect of the alloying elements on AISI steels is indirect because alloying elements control microstructure through their effect on hardenability. These elements permit the attainment of desirable microstructures and properties over a much wider range of sizes and sections than is possible with carbon steels. 

The sealant is so formulated that it keeps its shape as applied and hardens through chemical or physical processes to form a viscoelastic rubber-like material that withstands extension or compression. The sealant is extended at low temperatures and compressed at high temperatures because the building elements meeting at the joint contract with decreasing temperature and expand with rising temperature. 

Reclaimed concrete material (RCM) is sometimes referred to as recycled concrete pavement (RCP), or crushed concrete [ 159-162]. It consists of high-quality, well-graded aggregates, bonded by a hardened cementitious paste. The aggregates comprise approximately 60-75% of the total volume of concrete. RCM is generated through the demolition of Portland cement concrete elements of roads, runways, and structures during road reconstruction, utility excavations, or demolition operations. 

While the processes differ, there are elements common to many of them. In the majority of cases, TP compounds in the form of pellets, granules, flake, and powder, are melted by heat so they can flow. Pressure is often involved in forcing the molten plastic into a mold cavity or through a die and cooling must be provided to allow the molten plastic to harden. With TSs, heat and pressure also are most often used, only in this case, higher heat (rather than cooling) serves to cure or harden the TS plastic, under pressure, in the mold.
