The Wish List

Several years ago, a senior engineer from a well-known U.S.-based OEM visited us in Singapore to try us out. What his employer shared with the company we were already doing business with was that both were massive corporations that had had their humble (but spectacular) beginnings in garages. But this engineer also produced a strange wish list— make me the quietest 65W Flyback ever. 

Example Suppose we measure 2[iA going from right to left in one wire. And we measure 5pA going from left to right in the other wire. We don t know the current through the chassis ground (earth). What are the CM and DM components involved  

Which would mean that we have a current of 3qA flowing through earth (chassis ground) connection. And we have 3.5 iA flowing in and out of the two wires.

Wondering what to do with that old Atari Home Video Game in the attic It s on the wish list of the Computer Museum of America, in San Diego, California, which hopes you will donate it to their holdings. The Museum was founded in 1983 to amass and preserve historic (S) computer equipment such as calculators, card punches, and typewriters, and now owns one of the world s largest collections. In addition, it has archives of computer-related magazines, manuals, and books that are available to students, authors, researchers, and others for historical research. 

Moreover, precisely what makes for a good nomenclature is a question with probably as many answers as there are persons answering the question. One historically important answer given by Read and Milner [24] and amplified by Goodson [25] is the "wish-list" of the following nine properties ... 

The ideal particle size to use in the reactor should meet the requirements in the wish list concretely put, should we use small particles, medium-sized particles, or coarse particles (See Fig. 4.)...

It may often turn out that some of the items in the wish list require contradictory options of hardware and operation. In such a case, a careful analysis of different items in wish list must be made to assign priorities. Operability, stability, and environmental constraints often get precedence over conversion and selectivity when such conflicting requirements arise. 

We have highlighted some recent developments for adaptive schemes in which the QM part is not fixed for the whole computation but can adapt to the problem. They are essential for CT processes but they would also lead to more reliable descriptions of the interactions between a metal surface and organic compounds. The higher reliability results since such adaptive schemes can better accotmt for the effects of charge transfers. This is especially important for the description of heterogeneous catalysis. In this respect, also the improved description of metal surfaces is standing on the wish list.
