The transport and storage of catalysts

Ammonia synthesis catalysts are usually transported in sealed metal barrel. In order to prevent the catalyst from broken loose and the barrel leaks because of a loose cap, rolling of the metal barrel should be avoided during transportation. When in storage, moisture and contaminants should be kept out. The best storage period should not exceed six months. If the ammonia synthesis catalyst is exposed to air for a long time, it will absorb moisture and precipitate potassimn turning into a white material. It is better not to use an ammonia synthesis catalyst that has been affected by damp. [Pg.728]
