Tensile textile structure material types

These are carried out in normal textile laboratories in order (1) to ensure that the materials under test have been manufactured in accordance with design specification and (2) to monitor any short, medium, or long-term trends. Such tests are concerned primarily with the area density, fabric sett, yam types and linear densities, fabric structure, air permeability, thickness and density (principally nonwoven fabrics), tensile properties, and fabric stability. 

Figure 1.35 (laboratory experiment) and Table 1.19 show the influence of various gaseous air pollution on degradation behavior of various fibers used in textile weaves [91]. Tensile strength is already reduced even under UV light and exposure to clean air. The rate of property change depends not only on the type of material, but also on individual liber thickness and weave structure [91].
