Integration of Technical Drawings in a Data Bank System... [Pg.143]

The integrated data package includes the technical design information for the life cycle processes, and the special equipment specifications and baselines, software code listings, technical manuals, technical plans, facility drawings, and special tools related to manufacturing, verification, distribution, operations, support, training, and disposal. [Pg.14]

Tables, charts, graphs, drawings, and photographs are valuable aids for presenting technical information and should be considered an integral part of the report. As such, they must be planned and prepared in rough form as the text itself is planned and developed. Illustrative aids, while based on the text, should be as nearly self-explanatory as possible, and reliance upon the text for clarification of illustrations should be kept to a minimum. Every illustration should be accompanied by a caption, which makes clear the nature of the contents and the meaning or significance of the information. Tables and figures should be identified by number and title. Reference to a particular table or figure in the text should be properly accomplished as, for example Table 4 or Figure 5. Functional safety concepts in practice are currently document-based using text processing and drawing tools. If the documents are created using a UML tool, the information can be checked for consistency and the document can be created. With our method, a seamless integration into a model-based development process is possible. In the future, we intend to apply our method and tool in different projects. In addition, we plan to focus on technical safety requirements generation and metric derivation. [Pg.79]
