Target Subject index

The report is clearly indexed and set out. It tracks progress made towards meeting ICI s SH E 2000 targets, and features articles on how ICI manage safety, health and environment, and the company s involvement in community and conservation issues. For the first time the report also includes articles on how ICI views important issues. The subjects covered in this report are climate change, chemical management and endocrine disruption. 

Index-linked gilts are linked to the Retail Prices Index (All Items), or RPI, with an eight-month lag. The inflation rate calculated from this index is often described as headline inflation, as a short-form name distinguishing it from the so-called underlying measure RPIX, which excludes mortgage interest payments and is the index subject to the Monetary Policy Committee s inflation target. 

Garg and Achenie also demonstrated a reasonable approach to the solution of the I-QSAR problem in 2001. " ° Taking a target scaffold of an antifolate molecule for dihydrofolate reductase inhibition, these authors generated a QSAR for both activity and selectivity. They solved the I-QSAR problem to maximize selectivity through changing substitutents on the scaffold, subject to a constraint of a threshold activity. Finally, a work by Skvortsova, et al. " from 2003 demonstrated that the I-QSAR problem could be solved for the Hosoya index plus constraints on the number of carbon atoms for a system of 78 hydrocarbons. 

Although a wide variety of heterocycle/side-chain combinations can be used in the Boulton-Katritzky rearrangement, among these, the most commonly used heterocycle has been the 1,2,4-oxadiazole. This is due to the relative ease with which it is synthesized as well as the fact that it has a very low index of aromaticity. Its heightened chemical reactivity has made it an important target for medicinal and materials chemists and the subject of multiple reviews in the last several years. ... 

There have been a number of reports that surfactants and emusifying agents affect the spray characteristics particularly the size of droplets formed and the distribution of droplet sizes. A particularly important droplet index is the proportion of droplets with a diameter less than 100 urn since such droplets represent the upper limit of sizes subject to respiratory inhalation. When the proportion of such droplets is high hazards arise because breathing in spray mist causes intoxication. Furthermore, sprays with these characteristics are prone to drift and action on non-target areas is more difficult to control.
