Take up rate

Quench. Attempts have been made to model this nonisotherma1 process (32—35), but the complexity of the actual system makes quench design an art. Arrangements include straight-through, and outside-in and inside-out radial patterns (36). The optimum configuration depends on spinneret size, hole pattern, filament size, quench-chamber dimensions, take-up rate, and desired physical properties. Process continuity and final fiber properties are governed by the temperature profile and extension rate. 

In most spinning processes, the fiber emerging from the spinneret is drawn down to a desired dimension before complete solidification. In some production lines, a laser beam is uti1i2ed to monitor the dimensions of emerging thread any alteration is recorded and if required, the dope deHvery rate, take-up rate, and internal-injection medium deHvery rate are adjusted automaticaUy. 

Attempts to achieve a tissue specific transport of liposomes have recently been described. Cohen et al. coated liposomes with aggregated immunoglobulin ( 7). The take up rate of these vesicles into phagocytes could be increased by a factor of 60 compared to uncoated liposomes. 3 to 25 times more liposomes are taken up by the corresponding cells, if they are loaded with the appropriate antibodies (58). Similar attempts to achieve a "homing" have been carried out using lipid fixed antibodies (59). 

These expressions, with known initial concentrations of A and B, allow the time course of the approach to equilibrium to be described. (We consider this simple reversible reaction later when we take up rates of reversible reactions in Section 2.13.)... 

Studies of the plasma polymerization of tetrafluoroethylene in such a capacltively coupled system are described in another paper presented at this symposium [ 9]. The apparatus has been used to coat polysulfone hollow fibers with pyridine and acetylene + nitrogen plasma polymer to form a composite reverse osmosis desalination membrane. Salt rejections of 90-93% have been achieved at fluxes of 1.5-2.0 g.f.d with a fiber take up rate of 50-100 cm/min.

Bartik (2001) concludes that the EITC has affected the labour supply decisions of only 5% of the 20 million households that have received EITC benefits. Consequently, the remaining 95% of the households view the EITC as a pure wage supplement. The take-up rate of the EITC is relatively high, particularly when compared with the firm-based wage subsidies. Eighty per cent of households who live at 100-150% of the poverty level receive EITC. The rate is lower for families with other levels of income. Forty per cent of households with income of less than 50% of poverty receive EITC, whereas no one with an income of 300% of poverty or greater receives the tax credit.

Wage and/or employment subsidies. Most of these do not have a positive impact on workers and introduce substantial inefficiencies. Effective targeting may help, but at the cost of reducing take-up rates.

The hydrodynamic resistance of the precipitator increases with an increase in the rate of formation of the fibers, and for Ais reason, the strength of a fiber with a take-up rate of >3(X)-4(X) m/min usually decreases. The forming rate can be increased to 18(X) m/min by a series of design improvements in the unit for forming PPTA fibers fibers with a sufficiently high strength are obtained in this way. 

It is convenient for the effective usage of risk transfer tools that risks are properly aggregated, or pooled, in the first place. Individual property risks are grouped into larger portfolios through the standard operations of insurance companies, but penetratirai of voluntary catastrophe insurance is often low. To boost the take-up rate and aggregation of individual risks, other instruments can be used, most prominently the creation of risk pools. 

The data shown in the following spreadsheet represent the rate of evolution of COj and the take-up rate of Oj during a fermentation reaction. It is important in the study of fermentation processes to obtain the net amount of these gases used and released. This is accomplished by integrating the rates over time.
