Although we often refer to atmospheric pressure , a pressure of 1 bar (1.00 x 10 Pa) has been defined by the lUPAC as the standard pressure. Until 1982, the standard pressure was 1 atmosphere (1 atm = 101 300 Pa) and this pressure remains in use in some tables of physical data. [Pg.136]

This chapter is organized according to the nature and complexity of lactic acid itself and its derivatives. We begin by discussing the chemistry surrounding lactic acid and its esters. Then lactic acids with the hydroxyl function protected by a variety of removable groups are presented sequentially. A table of physical data associated with all the common protected lactic acid derivatives, discussed throughout this part of the book is presented at the end of the chapter. [Pg.1]

The present chapter concludes with a table of physical data associated with the common derivatives of malic acid discussed throughout this part of the book. [Pg.167]

These two volumes contain tables of physical data for pure organic compounds. [Pg.807]

Other early tabulations of numerical data were the French Tables Annuelles de Constantes et Donnees Numeriques which appeared for some decades after 1920, and the British Tables of Physical and Chemical Constants, masterminded by the National Physical Laboratory and known affectionately as Kaye and Laby after the editors, which appeared annually in single volume form from 1911 to 1966. These last two, like Landolt-Bdrnstein, appeared regularly, in successive editions. [Pg.492]

Some analytical instruments produce a table of raw data which need to be processed into the analytical result. Hyphenated measurement devices, such as HPLC linked to a diode array detector (DAD), form an important class of such instruments. In the particular case of HPLC-DAD, data tables are obtained consisting of spectra measured at several elution times. The rows represent the spectra and the columns are chromatograms detected at a particular wavelength. Consequently, rows and columns of the data table have a physical meaning. Because the data table X can be considered to be a product of a matrix C containing the concentration profiles and a matrix S containing the pure (but often unknown) spectra, we call such a table bilinear. The order of the rows in this data table corresponds to the order of the elution of the compounds from the analytical column. Each row corresponds to a particular elution time. Such bilinear data tables are therefore called ordered data tables. Trilinear data tables are obtained from LC-detectors which produce a matrix of data at any instance during the... [Pg.2]

A table of physical constants for more than 40 silanols is given in Ref. 35, together with tabulated data on synthetic routes to silanols (36, 37). [Pg.159]

Any edition of the Handbook of Chemistry and Physics, CRC Press, Boca Raton, FL, will contain an authoritative array of data, and all standard texts on physical chemistry publish tables of AHf data. The Website http //www.innovatia.com/Design Center/ rktprop2.htm is relatively mathematical, but of good quality. Alternatively, try the site http //www.geocities.com/CapeCanaveral/Launchpad/5226/thermo.html, which has a fairly good treatment. [Pg.543]

Other important handbooks include Chemical Properties Handbook (Yaws 1999) and the CRC Handbook of Chemistry and Physics (Weast and Tide 1989) Tables of Physical and Chemical Constants (Kaye and Laby 1986) is a more compact handbook of physical and chemical data. One should be on guard that sometimes, when experimental results are not available, the editors may list estimated values in a handbook, which are of less certain accuracy. A printed handbook normally has only limited reverse search capability, of going from a set of properties to the structures that have these properties. [Pg.63]
