Synthesis of Hydrocarbon Polymers Having Conjugated Unsaturations

A) Synthesis of Hydrocarbon Polymers Having Conjugated Unsaturation [Pg.9]

Ethylene and Propylene Copolymers Contaning Different Systems of Two Conjugated Double Bonds [Pg.9]

We previously described 9 12, 9) in detail the synthesis and several properties of ethylene-propylene-based terpolymers containing diene systems as random pending groups. For the sake of completeness we outline here some general conclusions derived from the previous work. [Pg.9]

As a consequence of the situation depicted above, terpolymers based on ethylene and propylene are expected to contain different amounts of brandling33 or gel34, even when they contain only single olefinic unsaturation. It has been calculated34 that in the case of terpolymers based on 5-ethylidene-2-norbomene (ENB) the gel point is passed at about 0.2 wt % of ENB. [Pg.10]

However, in the case of EPTM synthesis the formation of gel can be avoided by adopting low terpolymer concentration, low termonomer concentration and very efficient stopping procedures9,18,19.  [Pg.10]
