It goes without saying that you must help earn any support you may require before you need it. This means you should start working now to build sustaining, mutually beneficial relationships. Often you will be on the support end more than the receiving end. Love and compassion must be the bedrock of your support system. 

Policy principles act as compasses for sustainability, but they must be supported by different policies and action programs, and ultimately policy instruments. Eigure 10.1 represents a conceptual image of different policy levels for the promotion of sustainable consumption and production in Europe. 

Some of the more common performance measurement systems used to assess pharmaceutical outcomes include report cards, balanced scorecards, clinical value compasses, profiling, performance-based evaluation systems, and others. The goals of pharmaceutical performance measurement systems are to 1) compare treatment modalities fairly 2) recognize and promote good care 3) identify and eliminate substandard care and 4) improve the level of care overall.Because performance measures can include data over the course of treatment, the outcomes of alternative therapies and practices may be detected. The end goal of any performance measurement system should not be cost containment only improving patient outcomes must be a primary concern, keeping in mind the cost effectiveness of the therapy and sustainability of the system.

The pathetic ease and gullibility with which the mass media are lured into conventional moral panics may be contrasted to the deep denial behind their refusal to sustain a moral panic about torture, political massacres or social suffering in distant places. Public and media indifference are even attributed to deep states such as compassion fatigue .
