That wiU put annual sales of these integrated suites at nearly 19 billion. Transportation management systems, with 1998 sales of 314 million, are expected to reach 1.9 billion by 2003 (Forger 1999).

Like a snake swallowing its dinner, companies are still digesting the myriad of technologies acquired in this period. The average company now has more than 150 distinctly different supply chain technologies. For example, only 27 percent of Fortune 1000 companies can easily measure total supply chain costs. 

Organization. The use of downstream or channel data also depends on the organization having the right combination of inspiration (vision), perspiration, and iimovation. ft is not as simple as stuffing downstream data into traditional supply chain technologies.
