Given the recent interest in the topic of supply chain security, it could be expected that firm-level security issues would be the focal topic of an emerging body of theoretical and confirmatory research. However, an examination of the supply chain security hterature to date reveals relatively few investigative studies, ambiguous definitions and terminology, some inconsistency in theoretical development, and very little confirmatoiy research. We begin by defining these focal concepts and their interrelationships.
