Sulfonyl oligomeric

Cyanamides - Cyanamides also represent a class of materials where reactive oligomers have been prepared. A representative example of the type of modification done to cyanamides to moderate the initial reaction to obtain linear soluble melt-processable oligomers 1s shown in Eq. 2. A bis(aryl sulfonyl cyanamide) was initially reacted with two moles of a bis (cyanamide) to yield an oligomeric mixture (ideally represented in Eq. 2 as a simple compound). These fire-resistant materials have shown promising properties as composite resin matrices (6). [Pg.4]

Most alkyl chlorides are not active enough to react with propellanes. However, carbon tetrachloride g m-trichlorides and sulfonyl chlorides react easily to give the first few oligomeric derivatives of [ ]staffanes. The radical reaction of la with sulfuryl chloride yields the expected oligomers [/i]30 but also the compounds 31 and 32 are formed in 12% and 8% yield, respectively... [Pg.802]

As noted above, 54 is evidently a highly reactive species which, from various lines of evidence, is very probably implicated in a number of reactions in which the initial step was the formation of the sulfene. Mention has already been made of the further transformations of 55. Rather similar oligomeric products had been reported earlier by Fusco and co workers154 in the reactions of some secondary sulfonyl chlorides with triethylamine it is attractive to postulate the intermediacy of 54 (probably with Nu = NEt3). [Pg.726]

Fluorocarbons. Fluorocarbons are prepared primarily by the electrolytic substitution of fluorine for hydrogen on the carbon chain of carboxylic acid fluorides or sulfonyl fluorides. They may be completely fluorinated (per-fluoro-) or have a terminal hydrogen atom. In that respect, it is important to know which type of chain is present in a material, since the properties of the two may differ significantly in critical applications. They are also prepared by the oligomerization of tetrafluoroethylene. Linkage to many hydrophilic groups is accomplished through a short-chain hydrocarbon unit. [Pg.33]

Zwitterionic groups such as phosphoryl choline and sulfonyl betaine can form a hydrated layer to prevent protein adsorption [48-51]. Li and coworkers used urethane chemistry to synthesize a series of oligomeric polyurethanes with terminal... [Pg.31]

Likewise, cationic surfactants are prepared by the oligomerization process. The tetrafluoroethylene tetramer or pentamer is allowed to react with phenol and the phenyl ether obtained is chlorosulfonated [96.97]. The sulfonyl chloride is reacted with A, A -dimethyl-l,3-diaminopropane and quaternized ... [Pg.56]

Oligomerization of tetrafluoroethylene provides intermediates for amphoteric fluorinated surfactants. The tetrafluoroethylene pentamer reacts with phenol to form a phenyl ether [96]. Chlorosulfonation of the phenyl ether with chlorosul-fonic acid yields a sulfonyl chloride, which is allowed to react with A dimethyl-propanediamine ... [Pg.60]
