Subject geography

Teacher can refer to such contributions of chemistry while teaching the social sciences. In history reference can be made to various inventions in chemistry which were used to fight or win wars. Geography depend highly on chemistry for some of its aspects. The two subjects geography and chemistry overlap in various areas particularly in areas of study of rocks, atmosphere, hydrosphere, lithosphere, minerals, rain etc. Present day geography is considered as one of the science subjects. 

Twenty populations were sampled with plants from Hailuoto, at 65°00 N, representing the northernmost site and material from Hanko, at 59°49 N, representing the southernmost collection site (and, incidentally, the southernmost point of land in the country). Five samples represented central Finland with the remainder originating from the southern part. Fifty-five compounds were detected by GC-MS analysis, 53 of which were identified. The data obtained were subjected to complete linkage analysis, which differentiated several clusters that corresponded moderately well with geography. Genetic distance values derived from the RAPD data correlated well with chemical distance values determined from the terpene data (r=0.41, P<0.0001). 

Escohotado, Antonio. A Brief History of Drugs From the Stone Age to the Stoned Age. Rochester, Vt. Park Street Press, 1999. The author, a professor of philosophy and social science methodology at the University of Madrid, Spain, offers an eclectic social history of drugs that ranges widely in time and geography. The description of developments in Europe and elsewhere provides a useful complement to most American works on the subject.

Plant Geography is lacking in this manual, due to the limited amount of time available for the preparation of this manual. We hope to provide a chapter on this subject in a next edition.

Even so, what emerges from these varied efforts to define a new discipline is the study of geography and its relevance to species distributions (biology, ecology), past and present (palaeontology and neontology), and their explanation - a subject usually referred to as biogeography. 

All disciplines are subject to economic climate. If employment slumps in one field, such as journalism, skill sets can often be easily and profitably applied to a related field, such as advertising or public relations. People and management and verbal skills translate well across industries, geography, and time.
