Natural rubber is a homopolymer, a polymer whose monomer units are all alike. Most of the plastics we discussed earlier are also homopolymers. On the other hand, some synthetic rubbers (as well as many plastics) are copolymers. A copolymer is a polymer consisting of two or more different monomer units. These include polyethylene, crosslinked polyethylene, chlorosnlfonated polyethylene, ethylene-propylene rubber, polyvinylchloride, bntyl robber, styrene bntadiene rubber, silicone rubber, natural robber, polyisoprene robber, polyurethane, nitrile butadiene rubber, polychloroprene, polysulfone, thermoplastie elastomers, polyimide, and polyamides. Selection of polymer(s) depends on projected conditions of service such as temperature, presence of corrosive liquids, surrounding temperature, quality of insulation, etc. 

Proceeding from chapter, the present work pmpose is the solution of the considered paramount problems with the help of modem experimental and theoretical techniques on the example of partieulate-filled butadiene-styrene robber.
