1 Studies on Heavy Metal Pollution of Soils at Different Locations 

The purpose of this case study is to investigate the following two questions by means of multivariate statistical methods  

Soils were taken as multiple samples from three partial areas within the investigated territory  

To determine soil pH two suspensions were, furthermore, prepared from each sample of soil - one with distilled water and one with KC1 solution (c = 1 mol L ). According to the literature [LUX and FABIG, 1987] the mean value of the two quantities is approximately the true pH of the soil.
