Structural effects pure parameters

It must be noted that in order to be explicative, SPQR must be obtained either by using pure parameters or by using composite parameters of known composition. A pure parameter is a parameter which represents a single structural effect. A composite parameter is a parameter that represents two or more structural effects. [Pg.539]

Assume, for example, that two metals A and B are completely soluble in the solid state, as illustrated by the phase diagram of Fig. 12-1. The solid phase a, called a continuous solid solution, is of the substitutional type it varies in composition, but not in crystal structure, from pure A to pure B, which must necessarily have the same structure. The lattice parameter of a also varies continuously from that of pure A to that of pure B. Since all alloys in a system of this kind consist of the same single phase, their powder patterns appear quite similar, the only effect of a change in composition being to shift the diffraction-line positions in accordance with the change in lattice parameter. [Pg.370]

Achieving a suitable particle size with better yield is important in precipitation polymerization as many parameters affect its mechanism. We have prepared GA based MIPs by the precipitation polymerization and observed the effect of porogen on particle size and specific molecular recognition properties (Pardeshi et al, 2014], MIP, M-lOO prepared in the porogen acetonitrile and MIP, M-75 prepared in a mixture of acetonitrile-toluene (75 25 v/v), resulted in the formation of microspheres with approximately 4 pm particle size and surface area of 96.73 m g and nanoparticles (0.8-1000 nm] and a surface area of 345.9 m g" respectively. The results have shown that effect of toluene on the particle size of MIPs depends on the type of cross-linker used and its solubility parameter. Matching the solubility parameter of solvent mixture and cross-linkers is important to obtain the desired particle size in MIPs. The MIPs selectively recognized GA in presence of its structural analogues. Pure GA with percent recovery of 75 ( 1.6) and 83.4 ( 2.2) was obtained from the aqueous extract of herb Emblica officinalis by M-lOO and M-75, respectively. [Pg.637]

Thus, in the present approach, the major focus is on the question of how we can influence the external parameters like solvent and counterion and the intrinsic structural parameters within the systems A-l-A to force the electron-hopping process into the timescale of the experiment, or at least to establish clearly the borderline cases. That we are still looking at an electron-hopping process in the case of effective charge delocalization over the entire molecule and not at a pure resonance phenomenon may be reassured by VIS/NIR spectroscopy of the neutral and charged species the absorption of a single chromophore should be detected unless a very fast process > 1012 Hz is taking place. [Pg.22]
