Case report form completion All study personnel who will be entering data into the CRF should be present for review. The CRF contains all data required by the protocol. The proper location of couples in the furnace depends upon the particular process and use to which the furnace is put. The primary consideration must be to locate the hot junction at the point the temperature of which is required. A secondary consideration, however, is to locate the couple where the lead wires may be conveniently taken care of. The space between the protecting tube of the couple and the furnace wall should be tightly plugged with refractory cement, so that hot air cannot strike through the hole on to the head of the couple, nor cold air be drawn in thus cooling the hot junction of the couple. 

When a coating asphalt and a saturating-grade asphalt are used together, as in prepared roofing, one test method (ASTM D-1370) indicates whether they are likely to bleed, show strike-through, or disbond under stress at the coating felt interface.
