STRESS program

The heat and eold stress program in the eontraetor s SSAHP at Site B appeared to be a statement of eorporate poliey and eontained no details about site-speeifie heat stress or eold stress program proeedures at the site. The SSAHP for Site J did not appear to have established heat stress SOPs, but indieated that workers should evaluate how they were feeling. The SSAHPs for Sites D and I had no diseussion of heat stress. [Pg.207]

The audit indieated that heat stress programs were generally ineluded in most sites that were audited. The diflfieult part again appears to be in exeeution of the SSHAP, although, in some eases, no provisions were ineluded in the plans for heat/eold stress. [Pg.207]

Instron data files which have been saved on the minicomputer can be analyzed at any time using the STRESS program. After reading the specified raw data file, the STRESS program first converts the voltages to stress values based upon the data collection rates and calibration parameters, according to Equation 1. [Pg.124]

We wish to thank Drs W. Taylor (CSIRO) and T. Nelson (Yale) for providing MOD and MDH gene probes. Supported by USDA-CRGP (Environmental Stress Program), USDA-CRSR (SW Consortium on Plant Genetics) and, in part, the National Science Foundation. We are indebted to Dr John L. Wray for suggestions that improved the manuscript. [Pg.131]

California law prescribes a limit of 0.5 g/test for the sum of evaporative emissions from a motor vehicle beginning with model year 2004. Compliance with the limits must be confirmed by defined testing methods. In the 3-day diurnal test, for example, evaporative emissions from the entire vehicle are measured over a 3-day period in a SHED (Sealed Housing for Evaporative Determination) test chamber subjected to a predefined, 24-h temperature stress program (from 18.3 to 40.6 °C). After each 24-h period, the concentration of hydrocarbons (HC in ppm) is measured and converted into HC equivalents (in grams). The highest of the three measured values is then the test result. [Pg.366]

Just like the studies that have been conducted on providing styhsh safety glasses and the increase in voluntary compliance in wearing them, so too, you can surmise what anployees like significantly improves voluntaiy compliance with hydration and heat stress programs. [Pg.83]

Rape seeds (Brassica napus L.) were sown in gravel in plastic pots with holes in the bottom. The pots filled with gravel to a height of 12 cm were placed in plastic bins containing nutrient solution to a depth of 5 cm. The nutrient solution was changed every 3 days for 19 days after which the stress program was started. [Pg.205]

This webinar will provide the attendee with the key elements in developing a "Best Practices Approach" to a heat stress program. The webinar explores why to measure for heat stress, program resources, key measurement indicators, heat stress symptoms, an occupational hygiene program model, key elements used to evaluate the workplace and your program for maximum effectiveness and the most common types of instrumentation used to measure heat stress and heat strain. [Pg.58]
