Static Parameters

In this section the static parameters of the experimental setup are collected. It is good practice to do so after each re-adjustment of the setup. If some of the data addressed here have been forgotten to be collected there is some chance that the beamline scientist has done so during adjustment. [Pg.84]

Quasi-Static Parameters. We noted earlier that the longer-term gas pressures which develop for explosions in vented or unvented structures can be characterized by three parameters the peak quasistatic pressure Pqs, the duration and the gas impulse ig. For... [Pg.32]

In Equations 2.9 and 2.10, the enthalpy of evaporation used is the specific enthalpy of evaporation, expressed in kjkg 1. These expressions only give the amount of solvent evaporated, which is a static parameter. They give no information about the vapor flow rate, which is related to the dynamics of the process, that is, the reaction rate (see Section 9.4). This aspect is discussed in the chapter on technical aspects of reactor safety. [Pg.40]

The first conclusion is that the integrals I 2, i are negligible in comparison with the integrals for A = 0, 1, and so the static parameters Si, (Eq. (6-46)-(6-47) are close in absolute value to the integrals /oo, That the o-parameter is likely to be much greater than the jr-parameter can be seen from the following argument. Suppose we... [Pg.38]

The ZND concepts consider the structure of the wave to be one-dimensional and are adequate for determining the static parameters fi, P2, Tz, and Pz- However, there is now evidence that all self-sustaining detonations have a three-dimensional cellular structure. [Pg.252]

According to Eq. (358), the static parameters (333), (334) can be converted into viscoelastic parameters by replacing the elastic modulii K and p by the corresponding complex modulii ... [Pg.221]

Functional. If one is only interested in the functions computed, notation is simplified if one works with static parameters, such as the complete sequence of random bits an entity uses, although in practice those bits are generated... [Pg.150]

The dynamic nature of the protons in zeolites such as H-ZSM-5, met-allosilicates molecular sieves and heteropoly compounds was examined by temperature dependence of H MAS NMR in the range of 298 and 473K. The temperature-dependent lineshape of H MAS NMR spectra of acidic protons in zeolites showed the first and unambiguous evidence for proton migration in zeolite structure. The dynamic property of protons was a more sensitive measure for the activity of protons than the static parameters such as NMR chemical shift and IR band position of OH bonds. [Pg.356]

The chemical shift of acidic protons was not affected by Na" introduction. The dynamic property of protons can be a more sensitive measure for the activity of protons than the static parameters such as NMR chemical shift and IR band position of OH bonds. [Pg.372]

Besides static parameters, the time dependency of a sensor s behavior characterized by the transfer function, the impulse or step response, has to be taken into consideration. The frequency-transfer function H(s)... [Pg.34]

It is possible to design shape descriptors that incorporate nuclear vibrations. However, the simpler approach to shape dynamics is to apply static descriptors to entire domains of nuclear configurations. We then observe the interrelation between molecular shape and molecular motions (e.g., vibrations, reaction paths).32,33 in this case, we find a range of values in static parameters. The span of such a range (e.g., the fluctuations in a static descriptor) can characterize shape dynamics.3 ... [Pg.197]

Now we attempt to estimate D within the framework of the theoretical views on polymer fractals [22, 36, 56, 61-64]. It is assumed [68] that the fractal dimensions d, d, and D are related to one another via an expression similar to Equation (11.8). The relationship between the parameters d and D has been considered [6]. It is believed that d is a dynamic value which responds to a change in the conditions of the interaction of a macromolecule with its surrounding and D is a static parameter. However, in our opinion, the opposite situation occurs in reality this is indicated by the following facts, some of which have been noted previously. It has been shown experimentally [72] that a two-fold increase in the crosslinking density does not change d, while, according to the plot shown in Figure 11.12b, has an appreciable influence on D. Moreover, the monomer and the crosslinked epoxy polymer have nearly identical d values (see Table 11.4). Helman... [Pg.323]

It is convenient to divide the parameters obtained the NMR spectra into dynamic and static parameters. [Pg.280]

The static parameters are obtained from the observed resonance frequencies. The general frequency range where a particular nucleus shows a spectroscopic line is determined by flie magnetogyric ratio, which is a nuclear property without chemical interest However, flie precise value of flie resonance frequency is deter mined by molecular properties. For isotropic systems the two most important parameters determining the resonance frequency is flie chemical shift and the scalar spin-spin coupling. [Pg.280]

Another static parameter of importance is the inte grated area under a given peak. This quantity is pro portional to the number of spins contributing to a given peak. Thus, the area is a quantity by which (rela tive) concentrations can be determined. This, as will be shown below, has some important applications in emulsion science. [Pg.281]

The maximtrm deformation angle at static point is referred as Static parameters such as, and are related to a. Similarly, the dytramic parameters are related to... [Pg.135]

For the purpose of further use in accounts and interpretation of derived data express amounts of elastic effective mesh points and fragments of DGEBA as static parameters. [Pg.170]

Each model s core is the hybrid system model, imaging the failure-free system architecture with the use of Reliability Block Diagrams and the system behavior and interactions of the components with the use of Concurrent Finite State Machines. Based on this hybrid system model, the article on hand presents an optimization environment considering system reliability, residual reliabdities and additional static parameters for different system states. The optimization process is demonstrated using a generic electrical power supply system based on a single-aisle twin-jet commercial aircraft. [Pg.1524]

Objective value evaluation Calculate nominal and degraded reliability values using the hybrid system model. If applicable, add further static parameters, like system weight or costs. [Pg.1527]

Based on the hybrid system model and the non-dominated sorting genetic algorithm-II, an optimization approach has been presented regarding nominal reliability, residual reliability on different degradation levels and static parameters as objective parameters. The new method considers the individual state of each component and corresponding failure rates. [Pg.1530]

Attempts have been made to relate fatigue properties to static parameters, based on the similarity between monotonic and fatigue mechanisms, which control cyclic straining and plastic flow. This is somewhat problematic, because most ceramics are brittle and may be observed in their plastic state only at elevated temperatures. It would be more practical to discover a relation between static-yield stress and fatigue strength, since the yield stress in brittle materials coincides more or less with the fracture strength. [Pg.613]
