Star Quadrant

Star Quadrant indicates a star performer with both high Service Level and high Investment performance. Priorities are to continue excellent performance and to help other buyers improve. [Pg.494]

In Chapter 1, we discussed historic product innovations, both motivated by external market-pull and by internal technology-push motivations. Figure 12.1 shows a quadrant that was popularized by the Boston Consulting Group as the stars and dogs chart, and later popularized by Donald Stokes as Pasteur s quadrant. The horizontal axis shows the strength of external market-pull, and the vertical axis shows the level of... [Pg.340]

The boundary between star and amphiverse helices is formed by the radial helices (11), in which one set of alternate bonds converge at the helix axis. The rectangular helices (12), where 0=90° and u/t =2/1, separate the star and ring helices and represent one class of helix where alternate bonds are parallel. The step helices (13) (ya or yb = 180°) separate the ring and amphiverse helices and have one set of parallel alternate bonds. Many of these figures are also shown on the conformational map in Fig. 24 for the quadrant where the two conformation angles have the same sign. [Pg.57]

The shape of the star or in other words the relative coordinates of the nodes of the star with regard to the central node is also important. The quality of the GFD is sensitive to grid smoothness. Thus, very sharp changes of mesh density should be avoided. Several criteria have been developed to appropriately select nodes for the star. A simple yet efficient method in two dimensions is the so-called four quadrant criterion which uses the nearest nodes in each quadrant constructed arotmd the central node. [Pg.1765]
