Standard operating procedures training

Standard operating procedures, training, and emphasis on contractor personnel. [Pg.181]

The standard operating procedures demand great attention as they reflect personnel safety issues, safe operating limits and quality considerations. They should be written simply and clearly. The level of detail is determined by the training and experience of the operations staff but should also take into account the hazards inherent in the process. [Pg.84]

Standard operating procedures (SOPs) are step-by-step job instructions which can help workers perform their jobs safely and efficiently. When the end users are involved in their design, SOPs can provide a basis for arriving at a method of work agreed-to by different shifts. In this sense, SOPs can be used to develop training programs and specify measures of competence. Because of the importance of SOPs in the work situation, a systematic framework is needed to enable the design of reliable procedures which are acceptable by the workforce. [Pg.315]

One of the major undertakings during LIMS implementation is user training, which should cover not only the LIMS itself but also the standard operating procedures (SOPs) that govern use, administration, training, and other aspects of the LIMS. The training should be conducted on the test system... [Pg.60]

In the author s experience, field residue trials can be conducted in Latin America under complete compliance with all ERA guidelines and recommendations. More time does need to be spent in planning and preparation to ensure that the personnel involved in the testing have been trained in GLP and that this training, as well as the compliance of equipment, storage and archival sites, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and quality assurance (QA) audits, are properly documented. [Pg.199]

The training of LSMBS shoppers is generally conducted by telephone and through written instructions. The written instructions and forms provided to the shoppers form the equivalent of a standard operating procedure (SOP). Often, since the network of shoppers is widely dispersed and may or may not be involved with more than one sample collection period, formal SOPs are not devised and provided to the shoppers. Instead, complete written instructions are provided, albeit not necessarily in SOP format. [Pg.240]

Hazardous Materials Response Team An organized group of trained response personnel operating under an emergency response plan and appropriate standard operating procedures, who are expected to perform work to handle and control actual or potential leaks or spills of hazardous materials requiring close approach to the material to control or stabilize an incident. [Pg.315]

Provision of adequate competent medical staff is essential for the safe and ethical conduct of studies in humans. Decisions about whether a volunteer fulfils the entry criteria for a healthy subject or should be withdrawn from a study, how to respond to an unexpected adverse event and when to discontinue a study can prove challenging to the most experienced physician. Similarly, research nurses need many organisational and other skills over and above those that they acquired during their basic clinical training. Scientific staff must be competent in the techniques that will provide the essential data. All must be properly briefed about what will be required of them during the course of a study, and must be fully familiar with local standard operating procedures (SOPs) in compliance with good clinical practice (GCP). [Pg.156]

The GLP standards specify that the laboratory must have SOPs for particular activities at a minimum. Most laboratories find that implementation of GLPs will cause a dramatic increase in the number of SOPs used by the facility. They are an effective and easy way to document a procedure and to ensure that the staff is trained in the correct procedure. Standard Operating Procedures are hving documents and require care and maintenance however. [Pg.169]

Standard operating procedure should define cleaning of process equipment and facilities. Operators should be trained in cleaning SOPs. [Pg.58]

A standard operating procedure (SOP) is a document that prescribes how to perform an activity, usually as a list of action steps to be carried out serially. The detail in an SOP should be sufficient for a suitably trained and competent person to carry out the actions. It is important that SOPs docu-... [Pg.282]
