Split section

Spin-spin splitting (Section 13.7) The splitting of NMR signals caused by the coupling of nuclear spins. Only nonequivalent nuclei (such as protons with different chemical shifts) can split one another s signals. [Pg.1294]

Larger split packages must be piped on site by normal methods, and then processed and charged as an open plant. Split unit evaporators should not be located more than 5 m higher than their condensers (see Section 11.8) See also multi-splits, Section 28.8. [Pg.158]

The final structure design of the four-channel YI sensor is shown in Fig. 10.7 top-view (a), cross-section perpendicular to output channels (b), and side-view along the optical path (c). The distance between the mutually parallel output branches of the first Y-junction is chosen as D = 160 pm and the length of the splitting section is Ls, it 10 mm. [Pg.276]

Addition of high concentrations of both Ca and CD to 17, 23 kDa depleted preparations restores water splitting (Section 2.3). In the reactivated samples, however, there are changes in the behavior of the system (a) the miss parameter, a, is about double its value in untreated controls [213,234] (but see Ref. 236), (b)... [Pg.144]

Spin-spin splitting (Section 14.6) Splitting of an NMR signal into peaks caused by nonequivalent protons on the same carbon or adjacent carbons. [Pg.1210]

Now let us apply what we have learned to our ongoing numerical example. We start by taking a copper foil wound twice on the ETD-34 bobbin — to form the 5 V secondary winding. Since this is interleaved with respect to the primary, only one turn belongs to each split section. So the layers per portion for the secondary is p = 1. We will calculate the losses, and if acceptable, we will stay with the resulting arrangement. [Pg.166]

Although all the examples chosen involve singlet states, for which the theory is especially simple, there is no problem in extending the method to more complex Zeeman patterns, or indeed in including the effect of Paschen-Back uncoupling on the MOV spectrum [166]. The influence of -mixing on MOV patterns has also been studied, and is in principle well understood [167], If the experiment is performed with lasers, the influence of laser power on Faraday rotation arises both by population transfer and by the Autler-Townes splitting (section 9.10) [173]. [Pg.130]

VulkoIIan . [Bayer Miles] Water-crosslinked polyurethane elastomer for pun diaphragms, coupling elements, solid dres, rollers, pump housings, seals, wipers, bush and split sections ftK antifriction bearings and flexible couplings. [Pg.403]

The accuracy of DK KS wave functions for the description of g values can be illustrated by switching off the relativistic form of the Hartree interaction [19,35]. The commonly used DKnuc restriction (neglecting the two-electron contribution to the spin-orbit interaction) [14,16] notably overestimates the spin-orbit splitting (Section 3.1) [33]. For molecules without very heavy atoms, this approximation does not significantly change common observables [19]. However, g tensor values are much more sensitive to the proper relativistic form of... [Pg.678]

These are hollow containers, usually with an opening of smaller diameter than the body. Both ends of the moulding may be cut off to produce a tubular product, or one end cut off for a bucket-shaped container. The wall thickness varies with position, and there is a weld Hue across the closed end of the container (Fig. 1.12). Sometimes near-parallel lines are visible on the inner surface. These indicate the extrusion direction when the parison (tubular preform) emerged from a die. Look for the weld location on the base of an HDPE milk bottle this aligns with the external surface line from the mould split. Section the milk bottle vertically, in a plane perpendicular to the weld line, and measure the thickness at the weld line compared with elsewhere. Note the threads in the neck are corrugated. [Pg.16]

Spin—spin splitting (Section 9.9) An effect observed in NMR spectra. Spin—spin splittings result in a signal appearing as a multiplet (i.e., doublet, triplet, quartet, etc.) and are caused by magnetic couplings of the nucleus being observed with nuclei of nearby atoms. [Pg.1167]

Regard-Therefore, for different splits section sharp regions, Reg and Reg are different. For splits without distributed components, sharp split regions of both sections coincide with each other Re J,. = Reg (Fig. 5.9). [Pg.124]

Figure 6.6 depicts a comprehensive compilation of isomer shifts for Fe compounds. From this we see a broad correlation between isomer shift and oxidation state, but values also depend on the spin state. Note that high-spin Fe(II) is the only commonly occurring form of iron that can be unequivocally identified by Mossbauer spectroscopy, as all low-spin iron compounds effectively cover the same range of isomer shifts. However, in such cases other Mossbauer hyperfine interactions, such as quadrupole splitting (Section 6.4.2), can help to identify the nature of the iron atom in such compounds. [Pg.196]

Crystal field splitting (Section 1.6) Electronegativity difference Free energy, enthalpy and entropy of activation needed to reach the transition state for a reaction... [Pg.521]
