SLIDE search

For many centuries the application of materials for low friction and wear in sliding and rolling contacts primarily involved wood, stone, leather, iron, and copper. Almost all engineering materials have since been employed at one time or another in the continuing search for the best bearing material. Final selection is commonly a judgment based on the most essential material properties, ease of appHcation, and cost.

The intensive search for new organic fungicides has continued for over 30 years. Industrial or environmental problems caused by high frictional surfaces of materials exist in our daily life. The search for materials with a low surface friction has been one of the classical and everlasting research topics for material scientists and engineers. Despite many efforts, it has been shown that surface modification or adding of lubricant are not very effective in reducing the steady-state sliding friction between two solids, which show a frictional coefficient jU 10 even in the presence of lubricant [38],... 

The author has found that a window size of 100 and a slide position of 50 provided the best results for identifying experimentally confirmed P. aeruginosa sRNAs but different values might yield better results in other species. Be aware that increasing the window size can significantly increase the time it takes to complete a QRNA search.
