Hahn echo and solid echo produce different contrast in imaging, and the corresponding transverse relaxation times Tj and T2l- depend on cross-link density in a different fashion. 

The spatial resolution achieved by shifting the NMR-MOUSE across the surface and by changing the frequency for scanning depth can be improved in two ways one possibility is deconvolution of the data set with the shape of the sensitive volume. The other way is

The phase terms Mk2 in (1.2.4) refer to quadratic field profiles. Such a profile is encountered in good approximation in single-sided NMR, for example with the NMR-MOUSE (Mobile Universal Surface Explorer, cf. Section 9.3.4) [Blii6]. Use of nonlinear field profiles appears to be restricted to exceptional cases nevertheless, it also provides access to molecular transport parameters by appropriate manipulation of the moments of FAt) = d B,(t)/dx2.

Recent developments of time domain NMR (TD-NMR) and single sided NMR can be classified with respect to their impact on application, hardware, and data processing. Well known applications, developed in the 1970 and 1980 s, experience extensions due to improved hardware and data processing capabilities. One prominent example is the determination of water and fats in objects with hi water content. 

Online monitoring of the crystallization process was followed by single sided NMR in another study. To this end, a CPMG multi-echo train was acquired to obtain the SFC values. Good agreement was achieved between offline TD-NMR, online single sided NMR as well as ultrasonic measurements.

Clearly, the basic imaging scheme can be extended to include relaxation-time contrast for discrimination of variations in cross-link density and strain, and the ID MRI-MOUSE (magnetic resonance imaging MOUSE) can be extended with further gradient coils to permit imaging in three dimensions.
