Single-cycle system

System Type. The three basic types of SCF cleaning systems are the direct system, in which supercritical carbon dioxide (SCCO2) is the only cleaning solvent, the single-cycle system, in which the SCCO2 is mixed with a cosolvent and the dual-cycle system in which the parts are exposed separately to cosolvent and supercritical carbon dioxide. 

The major disadvantage of the single-cycle system to date has been the diflSculty of predicting the cleaning efficiency of the cosol-vent/carbon-dioxide mixture at the various operating conditions. 

The dual-cycle system is favored over the single cycle system if the cleaning process requires the use of cosolvent. Although the cosolvent reclaim system adds to initial capital costs, it yields a net gain by lowering material costs and improving consistency and operating efficiency.

Hatanaka et al. [50], Didenko and Suslick [51], and Koda et al. [52] reported the experiment of chemical reactions in a single-bubble system called single-bubble sonochemistry. Didenko and Suslick [51] reported that the amount of OH radicals produced by a single bubble per acoustic cycle was about 10s 106 molecules at 52 kHz and 1.3 1.55 bar in ultrasonic frequency and pressure amplitude, respectively. In transition metal-catalyzed domino reactions, more than one catalyst is often employed. In Tietze s definition and the classification of domino reactions, no distinction has been made between transformations where only one or more transition metal catalyst is used for the different steps, provided that they take place in a chronologically distinct order. Chemical plants themselves are subject to a variety of accident scenarios. These scenarios have not been modelled in detail for an S-I cycle system and are not fully understood. A thorough literature review indicates not one single paper regarding proposed chemical plant initiated accident scenarios in a coupled nuclear hydrogen generation system. However, it is evident that, in terms of safety, these scenarios could be very important. The chemical plant acts as the heat sink for the nuclear reactor, and any scenario which impedes the ability of this heat sink to function effectively is potentially serious.
