Simulated Rainwater

Two sets of simulated rainwater solutions were prepared. Aliquots of solution (100 mL) were transferred into eighteen 100 mL Nalgene bottles for each of the samples. The bottles were wrapped with aluminium foil and then sealed in plastic bags.

Note The pH of solutions near to pH 4 is virtually independent of temperature over the range of 5 to 30°C. Simulated rainwater samples are available (Reference 5) from NIST containing sulfate, nitrate, chloride, fluoride, sodium, potassium, calcium and magnesium. ...
