This chapter wiU discuss the development and role of different types of simulators in teaching MAS. We wiU discuss traditional box trainers, the use of virtual reality (VR), and efforts to standardize MAS training across the world. We will discuss the role of engineers in this process and how simulation may be used to enhance performance of both novices and experts through analysis of motion and force. Finally, we discuss how skills developed during simulation may be transferred to the operating room.

Hands-on training, where employees actually apply lessons learned in simulated or real situations, will enhance learning. For example, operating personnel, who will work in a control room or at control panels, would benefit by being trained at a simulated control panel. Where field data were imavailable, a program of experimental work (for example, based on the use of simulators for control room operations) could be implemented to generate appropriate generic data. 

Importantly, all biological procedures are operating at a temperature of 310 Kelvin, not at 0 Kelvin as the potential energy is calculated by the force fields. The kinetic energy must also be considered. Molecules and proteins at room temperature change the conformation at least at the surface and in loop region. Molecular dynamics simulation (MD) is an approach to tackle these kinetic and stability problems.
