Signs regulations

All appropriate warning signs must comply with the Safety Signs Regulations 1980 and must be displayed prior to commencement and for the duration of the work to be carried out (see BS 5378). Workplaces must be kept safe and tidy and all access/exit areas clear of obstruction. Additional information is available from HSE publications.

Feedback Control In a feedback control loop, the controlled variable is compared to the set point R, with the difference, deviation, or error e acted upon by the controller to move m in such a way as to minimize the error. This ac tion is specifically negative feedback, in that an increase in deviation moves m so as to decrease the deviation. (Positive feedback would cause the deviation to expand rather than diminish and therefore does not regulate.) The action of the controller is selectable to allow use on process gains of both signs.

For example, eiivironmeti-tal regulations requiring lower sulfur emissions favor gas over coal, while new technologies that make oil cheaper to use increase oil demand at the expense ot gas and coal. 

A document control function is required to regulate the authorisation and circulation of such documents. This involves the sign-off on a master copy of the document by authorized personnel, followed by a recorded circulation of official copies to relevant departments. If a document needs to be updated, the revised version should be reviewed and approved by the same functions that approved the original. The revised version is then issued with a new version number and date, and all copies of the obsolete version should be destroyed other than the obsolete master, which may be kept for historical traceability.
