HMPA hexamethylphosphoramide. This molecule that has been referred to as a potential carcinogenic compound , is now referred to as a useful aprotic solvent cf for instance, Sigma-Aldrich catalogue since edition 2000-2001, p. 921.

All RSMs obtained from secondary sources must be qualified. The Sigma-Aldrich family of companies is an excellent example of a secondary standard source, offering over 200,000 chemical compounds in their standard catalogues and an additional 70,000 in various specialty catalogues. 

With respect to the names of reagents and intermediates in the course of the syntheses the authors tried to use the names found in the catalogues of the commercial providers of fine chemicals, e.g. Sigma-Aldrich, otherwise the Chemical Abstracts Names are given. 

Laboratory coats, disposable aprons, caps, sleeves, dust/mist respirators and foot protection, hearing protection as well as a variety of safety glasses, goggles, face and body shields should be used when the demand arises and are avaOable commerciaUy (see e.g. the Sigma-Aldrich Labware catalogue).

The application of pressure to the liquid phase in liquid chromatography generally increases the separation (see HPLC). In PIC also, improved efficiency of the column is observed if pressure is applied to the mobile phase (Wittmer et al. Anal Chem 47 1422 1975).
