Selectivity expected yield, calculation

As expected, increasing concentration of Tyr-O-Et influences the activity of CPD-Y but not the selectivity of the competing reactions 1 and 2. On the other hand, increasing the concentration of Arg-NH2 results in increased activity and selectivity favoring the aminolysis reaction compared to the competing hydrolysis reaction. The data in Fig. 7-9 were measured under initial rate conditions (see Sect. 7.4.1). Additionally, selectivity and yield were calculated as a function of conversion (Fig. 7-10). [Pg.199]

There is no reason to believe that the off-diagonal Q integrals which yield this increase in U over I should be equal for longitudinal and transverse polarization but neither is there at present any basis for selecting different values. Hence we assume U1 = U2 and by use of the a values given above for the chlorine atom, the value of —El is calculated to be about 30 per cent smaller than was obtained in Table VI. Since the effect of anisotropy would be expected to be about the same for all of the halogens, the qualitative conclusions drawn from the results in Table VI are not affected. It is clear that anisotropy may be important, however, and must be considered in quantitative work. [Pg.81]

Using the first approach, the trace-metal fluxes calculated for the salt marsh are compared to measured deposition rates for other sites in Table XVI. These sites were selected to represent circumstances that would be expected to yield fluxes of comparable magnitude, as well as establish reasonable limits to be expected. The station on Hawaii receives deposition from air masses that have presumably been scavenged over the ocean of most of their pollution burden, whereas the large fluxes measured... [Pg.214]
