These were plotted and are compiled in API RP 520, Chart D-2 (page 55). The data plotted is for vessels constructed of ASTM A-5I5, Grade 70 steel, a steel typically employed for process vessels. If other materials are used an allowance for their stress characteristics under heat application needs to be made. Therefore a general determination of the need for protective measures, such as depressurization, can be made for a particular vessel by comparison to the D-2 chart and selected fire exposure temperatures. It should be noted that this is the best available fire test exposure data in the public domain. Improved methods and test data may be available in the future to refine the calculation methods. [Pg.126]

The elimination of a fire hazard may be the ideal solution, but it is often not possible. In general, the optimum level of fire protection is achieved by selecting from the other appropriate prevention and mitigation options. The higher the performance availability (or lower the probability of failure-on-demand) of each selected fire protection feature, the more effective the overall fire protection system. The generally preferred approach to improve effectiveness is to select a combination oipassive and active fire protection features. [Pg.234]

The M-l6 parts are new, as is the gun, so what goes on here Just think, any AR-15 can be made into an M-l6 selective fire by using the following parts M-l6 trigger sear, hammer and three position selector. Is this a fluke or what ... [Pg.82]

Generally, chemical warehouses whose contents classify them as hazardous occupancies should be constructed of fire resistive or noncombustible construction. Fire resistive construction should consist of materials that will withstand the anticipated fire exposure of a given duration without structural failure. The following standards and test methods are commonly used to establish selected fire resistance ratings ... [Pg.86]

The feed rolls rapidly move the strip through the press to locate it under the selected tool at the correct dimension. The move/select/fire sequence is coordinated by a computer, which allows easy programming of part patterns. [Pg.451]
