Scrutiny, scale

Clues to how the effects of segregation may be exacerbated, and how they may be mitigated, may be derived from a systematic analysis of the flow route with an understanding of the above structure. The scale of scrutiny is important for an analysis of segregation. In practice, a number of scrutiny scales may be important for different reasons, as with the sensitivity of fractions relative to the scale of ultimate use, compared with those relative to the scale of the various industrial operations undertaken. 

On a somewhat larger scale, there has been considerable activity in the area of nanocrystals, quantum dots, and systems in the tens of nanometers scale. Interesting questions have arisen regarding electronic properties such as the semiconductor energy band gap dependence on nanocrystal size and the nature of the electronic states in these small systems. Application [31] of the approaches described here, with the appropriate boundary conditions [32] to assure that electron confinement effects are properly addressed, have been successful. Questions regarding excitations, such as exdtons and vibrational properties, are among the many that will require considerable scrutiny. It is likely that there will be important input from quantum chemistry as well as condensed matter physics. 

Our scrutiny of publications identified in the literature search has enabled us to uncover the various ways in which laboratory toxicity tests have been applied, many of which are small-scale in nature. We have assembled papers based on their application affinities and classified them into specific sections, as shown in Figure 1. This classification scheme essentially comprises the structure of this chapter and each section is subsequently commented hereafter. 

In this article, this new energy crop has been introduced and its benefits extolled, in particular, the yield data of Table 1. However, the specifics were done within the economic and time constraints of the grant and are left open for more detailed scrutiny. In particular, the botany and plant physiology of the SSPs need clarification by experts, as do the physical characteristics of Table 1. Further studies are needed to establish heating values for the SSPs and to determine combustion characteristics. Knowledge of the cultivation and harvest of these plants must be expanded. The hope is, however, that the set of plants discussed here makes direct burnable biomass an economically feasible alternative on a broad scale. 

The probabilty criterion P = 0.95 (or 0.99) yields the most compact scale of orbital size, according to which the size of the first four qunatum shells are approximately in the ratio of 1 3 6 10. In the fourth and last columns of Tables 2.1.5, the probabilities corresponding to r and rmax are listed, respectively. Scrutiny of the data in Tables 2.1.5 and 2.1.7 show that adoption of r as an indication of orbital size corresponds fairly closely to a 50% probability... 

There are fire risks associated with the use of sodium hydride and alternative, innocuous bases would be welcome for large scale work One possibility is a mixture of barium oxide and barium hydroxide octahydrate in DMF. In the example shown in Scheme 4 191,355 the reaction is quite slow (7 days) and the yield only 55% but the method deserves further scrutiny. Another metal alkox-ide-based procedure for the regioselective protection of an equatorial alcohol proceeds via the stannylene derivative (see section 4,3.3)356... 

The clinical evaluation of drugs involves many different levels of scrutiny before a drug product can be marketed. These levels include Phase 1 for safety testing. Phase 2 for evaluating efficacy and determining the correct therapeutic dose. Phase 3 for large-scale... 

When determining appropriate sample size, the Scale of Scrutiny must be considered. 

The Scale of Scrutiny must be carefully considered when sampling as both small and large samples can give very misleading results.
