Screening control

This is an abstract model of the state of the whole System, and says nothing about its construction — whether it is distributed or centralised, whether the links are database keys or pointers, whether the types can be found in the implementation as individual classes. These matters are all left to the design phase a distributed object implementation, or a server-based one with remote screen-control clients would both be equally valid choices. [Pg.647]

The rovings in a plenum chamber are fed into a cutter and after being cut to the desired lengths, fall either into a plenum chamber or perforated screen where the air is exhausted from under the screen. A plastic binder of usually up to 5wt% is applied and is later cured. As the glass falls into the plenum chamber, the air flow pattern and baffles inside the screen control its distribution. Preform screen rotates and sometimes is tilted to ensure maximizing uniform deposits of the roving. [Pg.475]

Percutaneous splenoportography has lost its importance. Should a direct procedure be indicated, laparoscopic splenoportography is a possible alternative. Recently, a new technique has been described. (134) The percutaneous splenic puncture is performed using a thin needle under screen control, with the needle directed at the splenic hilus. The pressure of the splenic pulp can be measured directly in order to estimate the portal vein pressure. Contrast medium is injected manually or by a special device. From this depot in the red pulp, the splenic vein, the portal vein and the intrahepatic branches of the portal vein are contrasted within a few seconds, (s. fig. 8.12) Complications resulting from percutaneous splenoportography include afterbleeding from the spleen, bilateral rupture of the spleen, arterial aneurysms and a.v. shunts — these complications are serious in nature, but rare. Contraindications for the procedure should be carefully observed, (s. tab. 8.6)... [Pg.181]

Numeric keypad This set of keys has been separated to the right of the typing, cursor, and screen controls. This allows a user who is familiar with a calculator to perform with the same accuracy and speed. [Pg.92]

Cursor and screen controls These have also been separated, and include the Home, End, Page Up, Page Down, and Insert and Home keys. The directional keys are placed below the Home, End, Page Up, and Page Down keys. [Pg.92]

One of the control screens developed for the system is illustrated in Figure 2. Notable data acquisition and control features include fully computerized, touch-screen control of the entire process sequence, including one-touch pump down, automated run, and vent cycles. [Pg.388]

When she entered the annex two of the six beds were unoccupied. One had the privacy screen down to reveal an elderly man who gave her a hopeful talk-to-meplease look, the remaining three were fully screened. She smiled blandly at the lonely man, and turned to Erick s bed, datavising a code at the screen control processor. The screen split at the foot of the bed, shrinking back towards the walls. The visitor stepped inside, and promptly datavised a closure code at it. [Pg.260]
