Science, technology, engineering, and math

When it comes to growth through innovation, the debate usually centers on the post World War II formula for innovation - namely, more money for developing knowledge-intensive professions, especially in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math education) areas, needed technical and institutional infrastructure, and R D investment to create new knowledge. Today, we must set ourselves on the path to do far more. 

Indeed, science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) subjects were more likely to be cited by university students than vocational students as reasons for an interest in engineering, which supports the literature on perceived self-efficacy and outcome expectations (Cuimingham et al. 2007) in relation to STEM subjects as is evidenced below.

The papers in this volume were presented at the ACS symposium Chemical Composition of Atmospheric Aerosol Source/Air Quality Relationships sponsored by the Divisions of Nuclear Chemistry and Technology and Environmental Chemistry.
