Science-based drivers

This section contains information on several of the various science-based drivers that provide a platform to facilitate the use of science in decision making. The drivers included in this section are Chemical Inventories, TSCA, Hazard x Exposure = Risk, Risk Assessments, and Risk vs. Benefit. [Pg.673]

Ulm University of Applied Sciences has provided a supportive environment and the scientific freedom for me to explore this advanced camera-based driver assistance system and to establish it as a research discipline. Especially, the technical... [Pg.543]

He left the Daimler AG Research Center in 2012 to become a professor for Digital Systems Design at Ulm University of Applied Sciences. His lectures include digital technology with VHDL and FPGAs, basics of electrical engineering, and automotive systems. His primary research field is advanced camera-based driver assistance systems. [Pg.547]

The techniques we will develop are based on the branch of science known as thermodynamics. The theoretical aspects of thermodynamics are extremely precise and orderly its mathematical basis is complex. We, however, are only interested in what thermodynamics can do for us as a tool in solving problems of chemical equilibrium. We are in a situation similar to the automobile driver using a road map. Not many drivers thoroughly understand the principles of geometry and plane trigonometry that were used to draw the map. However, most know how to read a map and in doing so could manage reasonably well to get from Urbana to Berkeley. [Pg.58]

The literature search was based on PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses). The resources used for researching scientific articles were essentially databases of reference (Web of Knowledge and Scopus) and scientific journals (Science Direct, among others). In addition, were also included articles referenced in the bibliography of reviewed ones. The keywords were occupational vibration, whole-body vibration, pavements, vehicles, bus, driver, road type and seat effective amplitude transmissibility. [Pg.325]
