Saturn return

Cohen et al. [18] describe the management of the after-sales parts availability at Saturn, a division of General Motors. They report that, in 2000, Saturn had the highest off-the-shelf parts availability across all brands. As a result, customers of Saturn return for repairs and scheduled maintenance for many more years than other automobile owners. [Pg.119]

The GC/MS-MS analyses were performed on a Varian 3800 gas chromatograph (Varian Chromatography Systems, Walnut Creek, CA) equipped with a 1079 split/splitless injector and a ion trap spectrometer (Varian Saturn 2000, Varian Chromatography Systems) with a waveboard for MS-MS analysis. The system was operated by Saturn GC/MS Workstation v5.4 software. The MS-MS detection method was adapted from elsewhere. PCBs were separated on a 25 m length X 0.32 mm i.d., CPSil-8 column coated with a 0.25 pm film. The GC oven temperature program was as follows 90 °C hold 2 min, rate 30 °C/min to 170 °C, hold for 10 min, rate 3 °C/min to 250 °C, rate 20 °C/min to a final temperature of 280 °C, and hold for 5 min. Helium was employed as a carrier gas, with a constant column flow of 1.0 mE/min. Injector was programmed to return to the split mode after 2 min from the beginning of a run. Split flow was set at 50 mL/min. Injector temperature was held constant at 270 °C. Trap temperatures, manifold temperatures, and transfer line temperatures were 250, 50, and 280 °C, respectively. [Pg.301]

Consideration, in view of the discovery of evidence of liquid water-ammonia eutectics on Titan and active water geysers on Saturn s moon Enceladus, of whether the planned missions to the solar system should be reordered to permit returning to Titan or Enceladus earlier than is now scheduled. [Pg.21]

Consideration, in view of the discovery of evidence of liquid water-ammonia eutectics on Titan and active water geysers on Saturn s moon Enceladus, of whether the planned missions to the solar system should be reordered to permit returning to Titan or Enceladus earlier than is now scheduled. The discovery of evidence of liquid water-ammonia eutectics on Titan provides a context for the potential for polar fluids outside what is normally regarded as the habitable zone. The stay of the Cassini-Huygens mission on the surface of Titan was unfortunately brief but this moon of Saturn is the locale that is arguably likely to support exotic life. [Pg.103]

The synodic period measures the amount of time it takes for a planet to return to the same point in the sky as observed from Earth. Mercury has the shortest synodic period of 116 days while Mars has the longest of 780 days. The synodic periods of Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune are similar, slightly less than 400 days for each. [Pg.137]

The appearance of the lilac Philosophers Stone in the compost fulfills the twofold axes of the cross of Light and Life. The great hermetic maxim as above, so below applies in the reaction vessel and time cyclically returns us to where we started. Alchemists think of this as an ouroborus, the symbol of Saturn, which is a snake curled in a complete circle holding its tail in its mouth. " To the hermetic alchemists, the two axes of the cross represent the All in One. [Pg.257]

Spacecraft simultaneously in the Jovian system. Additionally, the decadal survey recommended that NASA should select its fourth mission in the New Frontiers program from among the following mission concepts Comet Surface Sample Return, Lunar South Pole Aiken Basin Sample Return, Saturn probe, Trojan Tour and Rendezvous, and Venus In Situ Explorer. [Pg.392]

Space applications for Ag-Zn cells include powering the space shuttle, space station, the lunar rover. Mars lander, and deep space probes. They were also used in the Saturn launch vehicles, the Apollo Lunar Lander, and life support jacket and to power space module operations Ml launch and return. In addition, they power spacecraft during launch and reentry. The lunar rover and space-walk suits are powered by the Ag-Zn battery systems. They also supply burst of power to supplement the fuel cell for operations in the command module. [Pg.58]
