Sandwich method, liposomes

These limitations have prompted an intense effort to identify alternative methods of gene delivery, including modification of the viral delivery system (Wills et ah, 1994). However, the lipid-DNA sandwiches and liposomal systems are currently of most interest and closest to clinical evaluation. These systems avoid the immunological consequences of viral vectors and so may offer an oppor-... [Pg.123]

A novel sandwich-type immunoassay method using liposomes has been designed to detect human IgG (Liu et al. 2008). The method is based on the SERS-derived signal from RRMs (CV) encapsulated in antibody-modified Upo-some particles. The antigen was firstly captured by the primary antibody immobilized in microwell plates and then sandwiched by secondary antibody-modified liposome. The CV molecules were released from the liposome and transferred to specially designed substrate of Au nanosphere arrays with 10 nm gaps. SERS signal of CV showed excellent sensitivity with LOD 8 ng ml . ... [Pg.114]
