A spiral or CONVOLUTED form derived from the curves of a rolled cylinder. 

With its low acoustic impedance, extreme bad width, high piezoelectric coefficient, and low density (only one-quarter the density of ceramic materials), PVDF is ideally suited as a transducer for hroad hand rmdenvater receivers in hghtweight hydrophones. The softness and flexibiHty of PVDF give it a comphance 30 times greater than ceramic. PVDF can thus he utilized in a hydrophone structure using various device configurations, such as compliant tubes, rolled cylinders, discs, and planar stacks of laminated material. 

CNTs are considered to be ideal candidates for a wide range of apvplications in materials science because of their exceptional mechanical, thermal, and electronic properties (Baughman Zakhidov, 2002). Carbon nanotubes exist as two types of structures singlewall carbon nanotubes (SWNTs) and multiwall carbon nanotubes (MWNTs). Fig. 1 shows the schematic pictures of different types of carbon nanotubes. SWNT can be considered as graphene sheet rolled cylinders of covalently bonded carbon atoms with very high aspect ratios of 1000 or more. MWNTs consist of a number of graphene cylinders concentrically nested like rings in a tree trunk with an interlayer distance of -0.34 nm. 

You may see some people rolling cylinders by holding the top and leaning the tank slightly on its side. This is an unsafe practice. It is easy to lose control of a heavy cylinder and drop it, thereby presenting an opportunity to break or damage the cylinder valve—creating your very own rocket. 

Do NOT roll cylinders—use a cart. Similarly, do not slide or drag cylinders but instead use a cart. Anywhere a cylinder is stored is a No Roll-Slide-Drag Zone for cylinders.

Similarly, the coefficient of friction of a rolling cylinder on a viscoelastic surface has been treated by May, Morris, and Atack and Hunter.
