Robbery state

As shown in Fig. 20.4-3, this added effect can improve helium selectivity relative to methane by a factor of 1.75. At the same time, a factor of 2.0 loss in helium solubility and a factor of 2.8 reduction in helium diffusivity due to the ciystallinity produces a 5.6-fold reduction in helium productivity relative to the hypothetical amorphous film case. Interestingly, the effects of chain restriction on different sizes of penetrants were found by Michaels to be effective only for rubbery materials, not glassy ones. A logical explanation for this fact was advanced in terms of the already low mobility of chain segments in the glass compared to the robbery state ...

The glass transition temperature, Tg, is the temperature below which the translational as well as long and short cooperative wriggling motions are frozen. In the robbery state, only the first kind of motion is frozen. The polymers that have their Tg values less than room temperature would be rubbery in nature, such as neoprene, polyisobutylene, or butyl rubbers. The factors that affect the glass transition temperatures are described in the following subsections. 

Above Tg, amorphous polymers enter a robbery state in which they can support large deformations and still recover to nearly their original shape. Such recovery could pose a major problem for high-temperature de-molding, since embossed features may, under certain conditions, spring back when the load is removed. A postcondition therefore means not that the difference between before and after will always be literally what is stated. Instead, it means that if you take into account concurrent actions, the cumulative effect will be what you d calculate from all the postconditions of the actions. So if you compare the till contents at the beginning and the end of the trading day, you should get a balance equaling the sum of all the sales, bankings, robberies, and so on. 

The end result of the civil unrest was numerous shootings and bombings both of members of the security forces and of people who are suspected of being associated with one side or the other. Much property was destroyed by bombings, and armed robberies to finance the various causes were common. All this resulted in a substantial financial burden on the state for a long period of time. 

More significantly, author Piers Paul Read in his book The Train Robbers states that the finance and planning for the Great Train Robbery and a number of the subsequent escapes as well, came courtesy of General Otto Skorzeny - perhaps a reason why over half the money stolen in the train robbery has never been located. 

Healy et al. (2006) described nine cases in England, Scotland, Australia, and the United States as illustrations of antidepressant-induced violence. Two paroxetine, three sertraline, and one fluoxetine case resulted in homicide. One paroxetine case resulted in assault, one venlafaxine case resulted in attempted murder, and one fluoxetine case resulted in assault and robbery. Some were associated with maniclike symptoms. They also evaluated clinical trial data (see subsequent discussion). 

What happened to the Mishrikeys was not an isolated incident. As ketamine has become more popular as a club drug, a wave of veterinary clinic robberies has spread across the United States. Most of the ketamine sold illegally at clubs and raves comes from veterinary clinics. There have been robberies reported in states all over the country, including Michigan, Colorado, North Carolina, Virginia, Minnesota, and Maryland. In 2000, Illinois police were able to arrest members of a ketamine theft ring that was believed to have robbed several clinics in the Midwest. 

At such extraordinarily low penetrant concentrations, plasticization of the overall matrix is not anticipated. As noted by Michaels in the previous discussion concerning crystallinity, motions involving relatively few repeat units are believed to give rise to most short-term glassy-state prc rties such as diffusion. In robbery polymers, on the other hand, longer-chain conceited motions occur over relatively short time scales, and one expects plasticization to be easier to induce in these materials. The new Italian state made some feeble attempts to improve the situation in Sicily without success (or much effort). The deplorable economic conditions continued to foster discontent and lawlessness. Shortly before Italy was unified, the mafia emerged in Sicily as a powerful and deadly organization. Kidnapping, robbery and murders increased. Protection rackets and extortion plagued Sicily. Feuds between rival families resulted in mass murders. To make matters worse, further cholera outbreaks took place in Sicily, in 1866, 1884/1885 and 1911.
