Resistance to impact test

The resistance impact test is an alternative test to the resistance to fragmentation by the Los Angeles test and is conducted in accordance with CEN EN 1097-2 (2010). It is also known as the German Schlagversuch test. [Pg.68]

During the test, an aggregate of size 8/12.5 mm is added to a metal mould and is crushed under the influence of a dropped load (10 blows from a height of 370 mm). After crushing, the aggregate is sieved through the 0.2, 0.63, 2, 5 and 8 mm test sieves. [Pg.68]

More information about the test accompanied by a calculation example is given in CEN EN 1097-2 (2010). [Pg.69]
