Research tool novel molecular approaches

Several approaches to obtaining realistic three-dimensional molecular structures have been described. Molecular structure is the universal language of chemists. Realistic structural models allow chemists to communicate more precisely. The structures, once they are obtained, can be used by the organic chemist to plan synthetic strategies, to design novel compounds, to examine the similarities and differences of two or more molecules, and generally to understand macroscopic phenomena at the molecular and atomic level. Molecular modeling has become an important tool in everyday research. [Pg.351]
