Regulations in United States

In Canada, the use of antioxidants is regulated under the Food and Drug Act (Heath Canada), and in United States, it is regulated by the Federal Drug Administration and the U.S. Department of Agriculture. When it comes to the European Economic Community, directives regulate the use of antioxidants however, individual member countries stiU have the control of usage levels. In Japan, the Food Sanitation Law specifies the use of antioxidants (48). 

Each country sets forth the requirements for a patent application through its laws and regulations. The United States does this through Section 112 of the Patent Law.
