Registration granting

In addition States may grant a Special Local Needs (SLN) registration under FIFRA. This is a temporary registration granted to solve an immediate problem, for which there is no product registered that would provide a solution. Europe is divided into two zones for the purpose of registration of new plant protection products within its community. The trial location should fall within these two distinct zones, namely the Northern and Central European Zone and the Southern European and Mediterranean zone. The climatic conditions and weather influences within each of the two regions described are assumed to be comparable. However, trial data should be representative of the areas where pesticide use is to be granted. 

When we specify a component, we take for granted the underlying architecture—mechanisms for registration to receive an output and the like—and focus on a higher-level specification. Including outputs in a specification (marked output property , output event , and so on or the equivalent solid arrow notation) implies that all this is assumed. A component specification takes the form of a single type description but as always in Catalysis, it can be refined and implemented as a collection of objects.
