In cases where employee visibility is important, high-visibihty clothing may be needed. This clothing can consist of retro-reflective vests, pants, jackets, hardhats, or any combination of these. 

As a final comment on pedestrian visibility, it is interesting to point out that there is one group of pedestrians who are very sensitive to their visibility road work crews. These people always were reflective vests with retro-reflective materials when out on the road, and whenever...

This was the only site that required the authors to wear both a safety helmet and a reflective vest. The authors visited this site twice and discovered that safety awareness is quite good on this site. AU workers wear a safety helmet, and all visitors are required to wear a reflective vest. Safety measures have the common flaw of requiring contractors to invest a significant amount of money. Implementation of KYT, however, requires a negligible sum of money to reduce careless behaviour during a risky job and raise the safety motivation of workers. However, some overpressured traps, such as Kristin (Figs 1 5), with a substantial column of condensate exist in Halten Vest and preservation of petroleum in such high pressure isolated fault-bounded reservoirs is fundamentally no different from a hydrostatic system, i.e. the occurrence of the accumulation simply reflects that the fracture pressure at the given depth is higher than the actual reservoir pressure (cf. general principles discussed in Holm 1996). Thus, Kristin is presently sufficiently deep to avoid the fracture gradient and has also a very thick caprock (cf Figs 4 7). No obviously visible gas chimney exists above Kristin, whilst such is indicated over the Lavrans trap. 

Minimized structures gained from MD simulations are also often basis of normal mode analysis (NMA) [41-43]. NMA assumes that all atoms harmonically oscillate around their equilibrium points. The oscillations deflned by frequency and amplitude (normal mode) are extracted and reflect directions of internal protein motions. Given all its normal modes, the entire protein motion can be expressed as a superposition of modes. The modes vith lo vest frequency correspond to rather delocalized motions in proteins in vhich a large number of atoms oscillate in coordinated motion vith considerable amplitude. Modes vith higher frequency represent more localized motions. Linear combinations of the most relevant normal modes can be employed to depict essential protein motions. Stepwise displacement of atoms of the original structure along the modes can be applied to build up an ensemble of relevant protein conformations [44, 45]. 

In order for a BBS program to retain its effectiveness it is important not to apply safety measures that are not needed—a point made by Olesky (2012). He notes that the intent of reflective safety vests is to protect workers from vehicular traffic. Yet these vests are often worn by workers who have no exposure at all to vehicles, electricians working on the upper stories of a building, for example. Doing so reduces the perceived usefulness of the safety program and reflects adversely on the judgment of the safety managers.

The responsibility for the maintenance of chemical plant is usually, and rightly, vested in an engineering department. Care of plant, however, must be the responsibility of the chemical operator and the extent to which this is exercised is reflected in the amount of maintenance required. For example, a garage is usually expected to maintain a car, but a carefully driven car requires less attention than one which is neglected and driven hard. This means that the careful driver has more use of his car and is less likely to meet with a breakdown. In the same way chemical plant, carefully operated, will require less maintenance and run longer without a breakdown than the same plant operated hard or carelessly. 

What position is taken on matters snch as these can reflect underlying philosophical positions of each side (as well as vested interests in the benefits of continued use of fossil fuels).

Wear appropriate protective equipment, which may include a hard hat, steel-toe safety shoes, work gloves, and a reflective safety vest. 

Make sure your work outfit has an abundance of refiective material. The bright orange or yellow that motorists can see so well during the day does little good at night unless it is accompanied with reflective material on your vest or jacket, hard hat, and pants.

Workers compensation insurance is not in its simplest form a preventive measure it is merely a way of distributing the costs of injury across all employers. It can be made to serve a preventive function if the insurance premiums paid by employers are stmctured to reflect the accident experience of the particular employer. If companies with high accident rates have to pay correspondingly high premiums this should, in theory, give employers a vested interest in the health and safety of their workers, assuming a carefully designed scheme. 

Night workers and flagmen who might be struck by moving vehicles need suits or vests designed to reflect light. 

So far, this is not too different from what exists today in many companies that use workflow systems. What converts the environment to "proactive" is the rules server that processes the inputs to our decision maker. The rules server contains preset rules that shape the direction of information flow. The rules match the needs of the individual decision maker and reflect the authority vested in that individual. They are a product of management practice on empowerment, continuous improvement, and oiganization philosophy. Values, philosophy of delegation, and decision analysis, not technology, dictate...
