Reckitt Benckiser

In October 2002, the FDA approved two new medications for treating opiate addiction, both developed by Reckitt Benckiser Pharmaceuticals. The new drugs, Subutex (buprenorphine hydrochloride) and Suboxone tablets (buprenorphine hydrochloride and naloxone hydrochloride) contain buprenorphine, a partial opioid agonist. Like methadone, buprenorphine binds to the brain s opioid receptors, but produces significantly reduced pleasurable effects than heroin.

Variations on this synthetic route remain the method of choice for accessing derivatives of 14-aminocodeinone. Improvements were made through process research at Reckitt Colman (now Reckitt Benckiser). In this modification, adduct (17) was treated with ethylene glycol and trimethylorthoformate followed by acetyl chloride to yield ethylene ketal (19) (Scheme 3). This was reduced using zinc in ammonium carbonate with subsequent hydrolysis to the codeinone (13). This remains the current method of choice.

RECKITT BENCKISER achieved 35% reduction in forecast error based on Mean Average Percentage Error (MAPE) from 23% to 15%, and also increased visibility of customer demand, generating a unique demand plan for the whole organization.

As the market for detergents in PVOH pouches became somewhat established, leading manufacturers developed more complex products as a means to differentiate their product from others in this very competitive market. The electrodes described in the second paper [71 ] also show a Nernstian deviation of -58.3 0.7 mV/decade to -60.9 0.7 mV/decade, but a lower detection limit of 3.0 x 10". The selectivity coefficients for acetate, oxalate, citrate and sulfate ions are respectively lower than for the electrode containing an associative complex of ibuprofen with methyltrioctylammonium cation. The electrodes also show a longer lifetime (approx. 12 months). The electrode [71] was applied for determination of ibuprofen in drug samples (Ibuprofen - tablets, Polfa, Pabianice, Poland Nurofen Forte Express - Reckitt Benckiser Healthcare International Ltd., Great Britain) with accuracy of 0.5-2.6% and high precision (RSD Q.7-5.5%).
