Reagent management

Reagent management (for individual reagents or cocktails of reagents ) includes reagent names and physico-chemical parameters, as well as synthetic procedures. The synthetic protocol is usually identical for all members of a collection or, dependent on the automation equipment, subcollections are specifically addressable. 

Procedure (1) is normally impracticable, as the majority of methods employed are destructive, and in any case the amount of material to be examined is frequently excessive. Even for a sample of manageable size the analysis would be very time-consuming, it would require large quantities of reagents, and would monopolise instruments for long periods. 

Successful management of a central HTS operation requires a discipline of process control that extends beyond the automation systems. The progression of HTS projects must be carefully guided and tracked through several milestones designed to ensure that a steady and predictable stream of robust assays are available for transfer to the automation platforms and that sufficient bulk reagents and consumable supplies will arrive in time to support the HTS campaigns.

Commercially available Pd(PtBu3)2 is a unique, air-stable 14e Pd° complex, an excellent catalyst for cross-coupling reactions of aryl chlorides.
